Gimmer daughters of Jalex Jaegerbomb from Jonathan Watson’s Brijon flock from Berwick-upon-Tweed topped a joint Suffolk female sale at Carlisle, when selling at 4000gns and 3500gns.

The dearest is bred from a ewe by Llwyn Welsh Border, while the 3500gns gimmer, an ET bred from a ewe Strathbogie Buffalo Bill, is an ET brother to the £9000 shearling sold at Kelso to Glenrath in 2022. Both sold to Ben and Amelia Watts, Newton Abbot, Devon.

Another two gimmer daughters of Jaegerbomb from the Brijon flock made 2000gns with both selling to BL and JA Collings, Tredwern Barn, Launceston, Cornwall.

The first was an ET sister of the 3500gns gimmer, with another ET sister making 1500gns to Jonnie Elliot, Roxburgh Mains, Kelso.

Northern Ireland breeder James Alexander, Jalex, bought four of the top seven highest priced females from CD Timm’s Boothferry flock, Pickering, North Yorkshire, including the dearest at 2600gns. This was a two-crop ewe by Santon Sherman out of a ewe by Pyeston Legacy.

Mr Alexander also went to 2000gns for a triplet-born gimmer by Boothferry Maverick, again out of a Pyeston Legacy-sired ewe.

The same sire onto a Santon Sherman-sired ewe produced another 2000gns Boothferry gimmer purchased by Alec and Russell Gray, Langside, Kirkfieldbank.
