Bullocks (421) and heifers (280) averaged 281.92p per kg and 269.51p respectively at United Auctions' weekly store cattle.

Limousin crosses from Parkhouse, secured the top prices with a 304kg bullock making 343.80p, whilst a 418kg heifer achieved 311.0p.

Among the per head section it was a 622kg Aberdeen Angus cross bullock from Balegreggan, that led the section at £1825, whilst a 648kg Limousin cross heifer made Eden Grove, for £1770.

Young bulls (5) cashed in at 232.87p having sold to 248.40p for a 322kg Limousin cross from Grassmainston, and to £1230 for a 518kg Simmental cross from Braidland.

Breeding sheep achieved £420 for Texel gimmers from Wester Middleton.

The weekly sale of 286 calves sold to £670 for a British Blue bull from MJL Simpson and Son, Waingate Head.

Bullocks (305) and heifers (276) averaged 284.3p per kg and 284.6p respectively at Aberdeen and Northern Marts' store cattle sale.

Charolais crosses led the bullock trade at 348p for some weighing 408kg from Cluseburn, Inverbervie and to £2110 for a 884kg entry from Stoneyhill, Longhaven.

Heifers sold to 344.3p for a 472kg British Blue cross from Westfield, Fortrie, and to £1800 for a 602kg Limousin cross from Bogie Street, Huntly.

Limousin crosses topped the bulls (38) at 265.7p for a 478kg entry from Sebay View, Tankerness and to £1650 for a 694kg bull from Mill of Knockenbaird, Insch.

Breeding gimmers and ewes met a strong demand, with a gimmer average of £202.10 up £15.21 on the year. Top of the day was £580 for a pure Texel gimmer from Messrs Mckerrow, Uppermill, Tarves.

Breeding ewes (187) sold to £205 on two occasions, firstly for Suffolk crosses and broken mouth Suffolk crosses both from Upper Sauchen, Ordhead.

Texel crosses from Meddat, Kildray, led the store lambs (48) at £118 to cash in at £109.11.
