A seven-month-old heifer led the Veitch family’s Vetech Summer Sensation Holstein sale at Carlisle when selling for 3200gns.

The sale of cattle from Strandhead, Mauchline, was topped by Vetech Logistics Jodie, a December 2023-born heifer sired by Cookiecutter Logistics and bred from 10 generations of VG or Ex-classified cows. Her dam is Vetech Rager Jodie VG85-2yr. Logistics Jodie was purchased online by the Logan family buying their Holehouse herd, Kilbirnie.

Another similarly aged heifer, Vetech Rembrance Kim 3, made 3000gns selling to David Gray, buying for the Grayridge herd, East Kilbride. She is sired by Vetech Rememberance and bred from the Kim family.

The top priced milker also made 3000gns. This was Vetech Pepper Geometrix 2 VG86-3yr, which sold fresh in January and back in calf to sexed Blondin Dragon. Neil Sloan of the Knoweside herd, Auchinleck, forked out the cash for this entry bred from six generations of VG and Ex-classified dams from the same family as the All-Canadian Mature Cow, Penlow Georgette Outside Ex96-2E.

Selling down to Preston at 2800gns with Messrs Forshaw, Alston, with the 10-month-old heifer Vetech Brady Ghostie 3 ET. The result of a flush from the Ex93 2E cow, Sterndale Alexander Ghostie her sire is Butz-Butler Atwood Brady.
