An entry of 578 lambs forward for Craig Wilson's sale averaged 296p per kg having sold to 319p for Texels from S Hannah Clearview and WS Nelson, Kirkland or £160 for Suffolk crosses from J Cannon, Clauchrie. Cast sheep (657) sold to £167 for Texel crosses from Emma Busby, Drumabrennan.

Dumfries

At C and D Auctions' sale, 305 lambs sold to £160 for Texels from RJ Burgess, The Bush and to 321p per kg for Blue Du Maine crosses from D Murphy, Townpark.

Cast sheep (158) reached £188 for Texel rams from East Polquhirter.

Longtown

An entry of 4686 sheep forward for C and D Auctions' sale saw 1637 lambs average 312.8p selling to 305p for Beltex from A Hambleton, Merkland, Thornhill or £192 for Suffolks from J Elliot, Roxburgh Mains, Kelso.

Texel ewes topped the cast sheep at £300 from Upper Huntly Wood, Earlston, Berwickshire.

Some 89 bullocks and heifers forward for the Caledonian Marts' sale saw heifers average 297.64p per kg selling to 330p for a Limousin from K Kerr, Balbie and to £1986 for a British Blue cross from J McAlister, West Thomaston.

Bullocks averaged 290.56p and sold to 320p for a Limousin from TH Gray, Balquharrage, Lennoxtown and to £1082.70 for a British Blue from J Collier, Dullomuir.

Young bulls sold to 280p or £2133 for a Limousin from A Orr, Lomond Muir, Fife and 47 cast cattle averaged 191.12p having sold to 241p and £2100 for Limousins from Lomond Muir and JC Orr, Baldastard, Fife respectively.

On Tuesday, 441 lambs averaged 303.87p, selling to 373p for a pair of Texels from M Jack, Carriston or £185 for Texels from F and H McNicol, Blindburn.

Cast sheep (348) achieved £250 for Texel ewes from Carriston.

Aberdeen and Northern Marts sold 1572 sheep where 603 lambs averaged 302.2p per kg.

Standingstones, Dyce topped the trade with a 39kg Beltex at 344.9p and a 52kg Beltex at £160.50.

Young bulls averaged 261.46p and sold to 274p for a Shorthorn cross from South Hourat and cast cattle sold to £1920 for a Limousin cow from Meoul.

Dingwall and Highland Marts had forward 376 sheep at their sale on Tuesday where 148 lambs averaged 315p per kg.

Crosses topped the trade at 315p and £137 from Braepark, Duncanston.

Cast sheep sold to £245 for a Texel ewe from Davochfin Farm, Dornoch. Four bullocks averaged 296.3p and sold to 299p for a 620kg Limousin cross and to £1898.65 for a 635kg British Blue cross both from Findon Farms, Culbokie.

Castle Douglas

On Tuesday, 926 sheep sold through Wallets Marts’ where 591 lambs averaged 299.06p per kg.

Texels topped the trade at £165 and 314.4p from Messrs Grierson, Sandfield and Messrs Williamson and Ross, Breckoniehill respectively. Cast sheep reached £223 for Texel ewes from Messrs Hiddleston, Wellhill.
