Game dealers, gamekeepers, and ghillies have been recognised for their work at the inaugural Scottish Game Awards.

The awards which were presented at the Scottish Game Fair in Scone, saw winners and commendations across four categories.

Game Champion of the Year was presented to the Country Food Trust, with highly commended awards to Angus Glens Moorland Group, Strathmore Rugby Club Partnership, and Winston Churchill Venison.

The Conservation and Sustainability in Sporting award went to Glenogil Estate and Game Conservancy Deutschland Partnership, with highly commended awards to Seafield and Strathspey Estates.

Auchnafree Estate, Perthshire, won Gamekeeping Team of the Year, with commendations for Dalnaspidal Grouse Moor near Dalwhinnie and Conor Kelly.

The Fishing Beat of the Year award was presented to Bemersyde Fishing, River Tweed, with Kercock Fishings, River Tay receiving a highly commended.

Ross Ewing, director of moorland at Scottish Land & Estates, said: “The breadth and quality of nominations for the debut Scottish Game Awards were outstanding, making it a difficult choice for the judging panel.

"My congratulations go to the County Food Trust, Glenogil Estate & Game Conservancy Deutschland, Auchnafree Estate, and Bemersyde Fishing, as well as all the other highly commended finalists and those who made the shortlist.

“We wanted the Scottish Game Awards to provide a platform for celebrating the fantastic social, economic and environmental contribution of those involved in country sports and those who have entered and won awards can be proud of what they are achieving on a daily basis.”
