A British Blue heifer from John and Yvonne Hopkins, topped the Blue Genes sale at Shrewsbury on Saturday when selling for 4100gns.
The breed society sale was led by Delhorn Truly Scrumptious, a dark blue roan yearling heifer, that stood as reserve female champion at the pre-sale show. The result of a flush from Solway View Nancy and sired by Tweeddale Ironman, she found a new home with C T Akrigg, Skipton.
The same buyer also purchased Delhorn Twilight Zone from the Hopkins who farm at Splotts, Somerset at 3400gns. This 14-month-old is also ET-bred being bred from Delhorn Light out My Fire and sired by Bedgebury Flat Out.
Bulls sold to 3600gns for Trencrom Swinton, a two-year-old from Gail Ellis, Trevarrock, Devon. A son of Chatham Magnus out of Trencrom Nisteria, he was knocked down to W Griffiths and Son, Abergele.
