Mark and Fee Ewbank, Intake Farm, Middlesmoor, secured the double championship at Skipton Auction Mart’s annual Craven Champions store cattle sale.

Their overall victor was the first prize British Blue-sired heifer, Panda, and it was the judge, Michael Wynne, Matlock, who backed his decision and purchased her for £4400.

An all-black Ewbank bullock known as ‘Bulletproof,’ took the reserve title before making £2800 when the hammer fell to Nick Dalby, Hartwith.

Another from the same home stood reserve male, this was an un-haltered British Blue cross bullock named Bang On. He later realised £1850 when heading down to Bedfordshire with KW Ludgate, Leighton Buzzard.

A second top call of £3100 was paid for the reserve female champion, a Limousin cross heifer from the Walker family, Brennand. Sired by Hunters Hall Odyssey, she was knocked down to Chris Wright and Sarah Harryman, Boston.

Another heifer the same way bred then made £1900 when selling to Howard Barker, Menwith.

More heifers from the same home stood first and second in the un-haltered class, making £2300 and £2000 to, respectively, the Brass family, Kirkby Stephen, and John and Jean Bradley, Giggleswick.
