A top price of 3700gns was achieved for George Simpson’s Llangwym Ben, from Forgue, at a sale of working dogs at Shandford Farm, Fern, Brechin.
The sale, staged by kind permission of W Mather and Sons and conducted by C and D Auction Marts, was topped by the rising three-year-old black, white, and tan dog from Mr Simpson, which sold over the telephone to an undisclosed buyer. Ben is sired by Madog Mot and out of Llangwm Gael.
Burnvale Dave, from Geordie Dey, Bridge of Don, made 2900gns, when selling to Mike Littlejohn, Glenesk. This black and white, January 2020-born dog is sired by Vic Morris and out of David Henderson’s Jewel.
The next best at 1900gns was Strathcanaird Vic from Alan Wilkie, Kinrive. This black, white, and tan three-year-old dog is sired by Sango Jim and out of SJ Grant’s Vicky. He was knocked down by Jim Ferguson.
Gin achieved 1600gns for Reece Brown, Acharn. His tri/blue merle two-year-old bitch found a new home with Robin Littlejohn.
Part broken dogs sold to 1000gns on two occasions. First was Kevin Howlett’s bitch, Fern, from Crieff. A black and white three-year-old, she is bred from Ross Henderson’s Jude. She was purchased by Messrs Donald, Lednathie Estate.
Later, Paul Simpson’s June, a rising two-year-old black, white, and tan bitch by Glanygors Mirk, out of Antar Pip, made the same money selling to Alec Smith.
Topping the pup trade at 300gns was a black, white, and tan 10-week-old dog from Alan Wilkie, Kinrive, purchased by Davie Cowie, Bridge of Dye.
Paul Simpson’s entry, Rocking Rodney, a five-month black, white, and tan dog, made 200gns when the hammer fell to Hunthill Estates.
