A fall in ex-farm milk prices saw averages slip £368 per head on the month to balance out at £2013, at Harrison and Hetherington's Borderway Monthly Dairy Day sale at Carlisle.
Top price was £2900 paid for the freshly calved cow, Wreaywood Mopan Allah, from the Wilson family of Woodside farm, Carlisle. Their entry, by Mopan, is bred from Wreaywood Snow Allah, and sold giving 48kg to Messrs Taylor, Lockerbie, Dumfriesshire.
The Wilson's 10 cows averaged £2405 bolstered by a £2800 sale for Wreaywood Lucky Allah Red, purchased by same buyer. She is sired by Zimmerview Lucky PP-Red, out of Wreaywood Captain Allah Red and sold giving 41kg.

The Nydie herd of R and A Wilson, from Clackmae, Berwickshire topped the heifer trade at £2800. Their pen leader was Nydie Morris Sally, a daughter of Peak AltaMorris, out of the VG86 classified dam, Nydie Cryptonite Sally. She sold giving 44kg to Messrs Harrington and Son, Kirkbride, Wigton.
Wormanby Kimball Ruby, a third calver giving more than 50kg per day also made £2800 for Wormanby farms, Burgh by Sands, Carlisle. Her pedigree features Seagull-Bay Slvr Kimball and the Ex90-classified dam, Wormanby Unix Ruby. Messrs Robinson and Son, Humshaugh, Hexham, forked out the cash.
Evening Holsteins from Thursby sold a group of heifers to a top of £2700 for Evening Sidekick Eclipse, when the hammer fell to Messrs Fisher, Dundrennan, Kirkcudbright. She is a daughter of Walnutlawn Sidekick and out of Evening Fitz Eclipse.
On the same price tag was the freshly calved heifer, Broughton Alice 19 from GJ Holden, Syke House, Broughton in Furness. Messrs Robinson and Son, Humshaugh, Hexham, got for their money a daughter of Peak Hotline, bred from Broughton Alice 16.
