Boclair USB Apple Red achieved the top price of 9000gns at the Boclair Bright Futures Sale staged at Borderway Mart, Carlisle.

This well-known Holstein herd owned by Brewster family, Glasgow, have been at the forefront of the black and white business for more than 50 years and winning the Premier Herd title in 2017 was one of their greatest achievements.

The Millar family Coleraine, County Londonderry, from N Ireland, took home this red and white heifer, which is AI'd to Koepon Oh Ryder Red. She is sired by Riverdown Unstopabull Red and bed from the VG88 three-year-old cow, Boclair Jordy Apple Red 2, who’s full sister sold for 6500gns last year.

Boclair Delta-Lambda Elegance 2 had style and class and certainly made up to that when being knocked down at 5600gns to the Smith family, Greentowers, Lanark. A Farnear Delta-Lambda daughter, she is out of from the VG87 cow, Boclair Doc Elegance 6 with ten generations of VG or Ex dams.

The Apple family were again in the money when Boclair Rubels Apple Red achieved 5400gns. She is the result of the sire, Hoogerhorst DG Oh Rubels Red onto the Ex90 dam, Boclair Barbwire Apple Red. This one sold to Messrs Awde, Penrith, Cumbria.

Another from the same family, Boclair Shiled Apple Red, made 4000gns when being sold to Messrs Donald, Welton, Carlisle, Cumbria. A daughter of Koepon Shield Red bred from the 6500gns full sister to the dam of the top seller she is out to Boclair Jordy Apple Red.

Boclair Lambda Rae was next in the money at 4200gns when finding a new home up North with Messrs Mackenzie, Muir of Ord, Ross Shire. Bred by the Ex93 dam, Boclair Snowy Rae, she is sired by Farnear Delta-Lambda.

Scottish buyers were again at the forefront when Messrs Kinloch, Cardross, Dumbarton, forked out 3800gns for Boclair Usb Apple. This heifer is a daughter of Riverdown Unstopabull Red, out of the VG87 three-year-old, Boclair Solomon Apple, and is AI'd to Koepon Oh Ryder Red.

On the same money was the heifer, Boclair Haniko Rae, which now heads to Stranraer with Messrs McNeil, Lochans. This one is sired by Siemers Lambda Haniko, and the dam, Boclair Silver Rae is VG87.

This time heading to Ayr with Robbie Scott, Mossblown, was the nine-month-old heifer, Boclair Lambda Onyx. Achieving 3600gns she is backed by Duckett Doorman Onyx and sired by Farnear Delta-Lambda

Two lots then made 3500gns first to come under the hammer was Boclair Crushabull Hope 3 which was purchased by Andrew and Euan Lawrie, Pettinain, Lanark. Bred from the Ex90 dam, Boclair Mincio Hope 5, she is a Oh-River-Syc Crushabull daughter.

On the same price tag was Boclair Chief Marie, which was knocked down to TD Awde, Penrith, Cumbria. This yearling heifer is a daughter of Stantons Chief and out of the Ex92 dam, Boclair Uno Marie 2.
