A Limousin bull calf secured the championship at Harrison and Hetherington's annual spring show and sale of 380 young calves at Carlisle.
Producing the champion, a Lodge Hamlet son, was Messrs Livingstone, Kirtlevale, Gretna, which later realised £580 to Messrs Caddy.
Reserve champion was awarded to a Limousin heifer again sired by Lodge Hamlet from Messrs Martin, Boggle Hall, selling for £420 to the judge, James Harrison, Penrith.
However, topping the sale at £620 was a British Blue bull from Connell Farms, Whauphill, closely followed by a heifer from Messrs Ewing, Dunbretton, Annan, selling to £610.
