Topping the heifers at £1460 was a Limousin from Messrs Wigham, Cold Shield, Haltwhistle.

Weaned cattle peaked at £1070 for a Limousin bull from Stubbsgill Farm, while heifers sold to the same money for more or the same from High House. Weaned steers hit £1030 for a British Blue from The Bog.

Calves saw top prices of £555 paid for a British Blue bull from Messrs Maxwell, North Doddington , while heifers peaked at £530 for more of the same from Messrs Hetherington, Crookdake.

Heifers levelled at 237.80p and peaked at 291.70p for a 300kg Charolais cross from Gateside and to £1390 for a 618kg British Blue cross from Oakersdyke.

A Limousin cross from Abbeymill led the young bulls at 254.10p or £840 for a Simmental cross from the same home, to average 225.76p, while dairy bullocks cashed in at 176.98p selling to 194.20p and £1130 for a 582kg Norwegian red cross from Henderland.

Beef cattle averaged 139.29p, selling to 202.60p for a British Blue cross from Little Spot and to £1710 for a Charolais cross from Over Hill House, while dairy cows averaged 112.09p to 126.80p and £1070 for a Montbelairde cross from Norrieston.

Breeding cattle sold to £2550 for in-calf Limousin cows due to a Charolais from Balleny.

Aberdeen Angus bullocks cashed in at 243.3p having sold to 264.6p for three 446kg entries from Gladhill, Garmouth and £1440 for three 626kg stots from Feaval, Birsay.

Heifers balanced out at 243p having attained 284.7p for 404kg Charolais crosses from Darley, Fyvie or £1480 for a 634kg Limousin cross Craigroy, Dallas.

Aberdeen Angus heifers sold to 242.8p for 416kg entries from Mains of Inverugie, Peterhead and £1265 for a 570kg duo from Binscarth, Finstown, to level at 229.5p.
