Some 280 sheep and 33 cattle were forward for a rare breeds sale at Carlisle, where a Dexter secured the lead price amongst the cattle and a Kerry Hill topped the sheep at £1500.
Sale leader was the Dexter bull, Brenin Llewellyn, from Jean Nuttall, Bentham. This eight-year-old bred by John Pinder, is by Llan-Y-Coed Salix, and sold to Messrs Bevan, Whaley Bridge, Derbyshire.
Fife-based, Linda McKendrick, Peat Inn, Cupar, bought the top priced Dexter female, Planetree Kleio, a heifer from S and K Darnbrook, Newcastleton, at £1100.
The lead priced Kerry Hill also sold to Scotland, when Messrs Graham, Corrie, Lockerbie, went to £1500 for a shearling ram from RF and DJ Price, Churchstoke, Powys. He is by a Woodhouse sire.
Kerry Hill females hit £1180 for Top Spot Drama Queen, a ewe lamb from Angie and Stuart Burgess, New Abbey, Dumfries. She is by a Calcot sire, and sold to Messrs Riddoch, Grange, Keith.
Ryelands peaked at £600 for this ram lamb from the Harringtons
Ryelands peaked at £600 for Teejay Archie, a ram lamb from the Harringtons from Raughton, Dalston. He is by Red Sewell Zidane, and sold to Messrs Gumble, Halfway, Llandovery.
Messrs Campbell, Cornaigmore, Isle of Tiree, purchased the top two coloured Ryelands at £400 each.
First was a gimmer by Greenlea Xakery, from AC and S Fawcett, Far Shields, Ainstable, with the second being Sproxton Zeppelin, a shearling by Sproxton Xcellent from T and G Glover, The Laurels, Kilburn.
Shetlands sold to £330 for the shearling ram, Helios of Derwent, from S Tyson and R William, Underskiddaw, purchased by Robiesland Farm, Lanark.
